The last time I saw June was in a shop at the top end of Northumberland Street, early 1970s. I think it was a bakery/sandwich shop and I worked in the RAF Careers Information Office, just around the corner in Ridley Place. I always liked to think she was my childhood sweetheart but she may have had other ideas. I met up with David a few years ago when he and his wife came across from USA for a short holiday. I have lost touch with him now but the last I heard he had had something to do with management of Native American Schools, in or around Kansas. I saw Isobel standing by her garden gate, many years ago when she lived in one of the new houses behind Elmfield Road (near my wifes mother's home. As you can see she was quite tall and she married a tall lad who was a good goalkeeper. His name escapes me now (Anderson?) but sadly, I believe they have both passed on. We were all aged between 10 and 12 years when that photo was taken. We are all grinning like Cheshire cats there but that was because of Happy Days. |
