It is reported that Boots are to close 200 non profit making stores.I would be very surprised if the Hebburn was not one of them.It makes me wonder how any store is making a go of it,s business in Hebburn shopping centre.
Eddy. They lost their way when they decided to be a department store. Maybe some of the smaller chemist type outlets will survive but with an ever increasing number of in-supermarket outlets and prescriptions being fulfilled online and delivered who knows. I sold my shares years ago because I had no faith in their future.
Yes is it owned by Wallgreens Shelia......a much sharper bunch from the USA. They will be ruthless in rooting out non performing stores. And yes Boots was started in Nottingham where its HO is still situated. I still don't believe that with the way the marketplace is changing that Boots will do much except contract on the high street in the near future but they will become big players for prescriptions online.
