I have been visiting my brother-in-law George Findlay who is in South Tyneside General and everyday I take a couple of morning papers down for him.At one time not so long ago paper boys used to come around the wards & patients could buy a paper if they wished to.This practice has stopped & the only paper you can buy is the Gazette.A sign of the times I think.
Eddy, how is George? I was sorry to hear he is in hospital. He and my husband were good friends and worked together at Baker Perkins for many years. We often went out with George and Doreen - I know that she passed away some years ago - and I lost touch with George. Do tell him I am asking kindly after him - I am sure he will remember me. Thank you
Hello Rhoda,George is doing fine but still in hospital.(Ward 6 STGH).He is now 89 years old & like I say is doing well for his age.My wife & I visit him everyday as Linda his daughter lives away. She hes been up visiting all week-end.I will be seeing George this afternoon and will pass on your good wishes.Thanks.
Hi Norman. How nice of you to remember me. I do check the Hebburn Message board regularly but never seem to have much to add to everything that other people post. However, I do like to keep up to date with all the news, I have replied to Eddie who posted me another message further up the board and who has been kind enough to pass on my message to George Findlay. I am plodding along nicely thank you and just trying to ignore the dreaded arthritis and which doesn't stop me getting out and about. Hope you are well too. Regards Rhoda
