This B&W Film was taken in 1949 at Hebburn Palmer's.

John you deserve to be proud .What a film had no idea the scale of the work a film for the younger generation to watch of what we had .

My dad worked there when I was a little girl but I'm not sure if he was still at Reyrolles in 1949 or Palmers. Great to see, they worked hard for their money.

Memories of working in section 6 1958/9. Looks like section leader Harry Wright working at his drawing board.

Many thanks Norman,brought back many memories serving my time at the yard 1956-61 also as a young boy who used to sell papers at the gate standing well back from the stampede of workmen at home time.

Sold many of paper's at that gate then later on worked there.

I must admit, I was studying every face, to see if I could spot my Dad !!

He was an apprentice at Palmers through WWII, and was probably still there in 1949.

I know he then moved to Wright Anderson at Gateshead, probably mid/late 1950's.
