it's funny. like the wnba bit about attendance. yeah, show up. but the "you're smarter, how are you losing to the sports bar guys" question has an easy answer. before modern laws (kudos to lawtalkers), women were physically subjugated. after modern law, women were subjugated by legality (property of husbands - boo lawtalkers) and societal norms. the only way for women to be successful was through influence over men (only fans is the modern version) and by ruthlessly, yet "appropriately according to the norms of the time" taking down other women. it was the only way they could climb a ladder. and still today they are mocked for this. when men have done this to everyone for ever. physically or intellectually or by the good graces of chance. and usually a mix. for fucks sake, women have only been in the position to get equal education (or employment for about 10 percent of civilization (I'm spitballing here...maybe 20). the university of michigan had a student union and a "league" building that was the "women's union" on campus.women have only been "allowed" at universities for a handful of generations. i recognize that this clip stopped, so bill may have acknowledged these fundamental barriers. and he may have held up the remarkable contributions that female humans have made possible - including the most fundamental one -continuation of humanity. but save the 2 minutes in the middle, this clip was a masterful diversion of male fragility by using effective comedic oration. he got this right, it's about the money generated by the attention. and his bit was in service to the dollar. respect to him for getting his. but if he didn't call out men for their role in this continuing subjugation, then fuck him on profiting on pushing down our mothers, sisters, partners, and daughters.
