...a few interesting notes though...
1. I was using a cordless drill for something yesterday in the yard. The dog was in the yard. As soon as I walked into the back yard holding it he started barking at me like crazy. Wouldn't get near me. I set it on the ground and let him come up and sniff it, which seemed to lessen his fears.
He's not like that with other things like a vacuum or a shovel or an air compressor or leaf blower. I assume that someone who used a drill was an asshole to him or he thinks it's a handgun and someone shot at him while he was a stray?
2. He usually sleeps on a bed in the living room by his choice. However, my wife as been sick lately and on days I don't sleep in the bedroom he sleeps on the floor right in her doorway facing the hallway.
3. I took him for a mile long walk on the beach yesterday, just he and I. Once we got to the sand I took him off leash and other than playing with dogs that came up to us, he just stayed right with me and played in the surf the entire time. Wasn't bothered by birds, dogs or other humans. If I started walking he'd look up and just walk with me closely.
He's got some rescue quirks, but having a dog that isn't leash aggressive or hates other dogs is a huge relief after our previous dog.
