With the May 10 windows updates, microsoft moved the W10 update from being an optional update to being a recommended update and all recommended updates are automatically installed without your permission.
My understanding is that for those people who have windows updates automatically install their updates that they actually had most of W10 downloaded to their pc's months ago, it's just the last installation update that was given out this month.
If you change your Windows update setting from automatic to manual then you might be able to uncheck the update instead of downloading it but so far all of the W10 preparation updates that have been coming out since about Dec have nothing in the wording of the update that tells us it's a W10 update.
I've been following the Windows General usenet group since long before W10 came out and the people in there have been pretty good about listing which update numbers you shouldn't take if you don't want W10,so each month I manually check for updates and uncheck the updates on the list. I can give you the list of update numbers but as long as you're getting the W10 nag window, you already have those updates installed and I'm unsure if uninstalling them could screw up your pc. I do know that by not taking those updates that for my pc and other peeps pc the manual checking for updates has gone from taking a few minutes to taking hours and then after hours of waiting for the update list I have to go through looking for the numbers to uncheck.
I have a friend who has been getting her updates automatically and last week she turned on her pc to find that W10 had been installed and she had to finish the installation process by agreeing to the terms of W10. She had me come over and check for a way not to finish off the installation process and I wasn't able to find a way out of it so I finished the installation for her.
I know that back when W10 first came out they gave you 30 days to try it out or do a system restore back to your previous OS but now that they're forcing it onto people I'm unsure if the system restore option is still available. There are only a handfull of people who posted that they got W10 as an automatic update this month and none of those people have mentioned doing a system restore. I have a feeling the 2nd tuesday of June is when quite a few people will see W10 automatically downloading and installing to their pc's.
If you want the list of updates that are W10 related let me know but be forwarn that uninstalling them could screw up your pc.
