Here's a larger version of the picture I removed the background from-
http://s26.postimg.org/w3qxt64nt/dad_resized.jpg
you'll notice that the color of the shirt on the person on the left size is close to face color of my dad. So no matter what tolerance I use on the shirt atleast a few pixels of my dad's face is included unless I use such a low tolerance which selects only a tiny portion of the shirt to deleted. Also on the right side the shadow color of the purse is very close to the color of dad's suit, so part of the suit is selected besides the purse no matter what tolerance I use.
It basically takes way too long to try to remove most of the background using the magic wand, especially with trying to find the right tolerance for each color.
With object extractor all you do is draw around object you want to extract and then click the floodfill icon and click onto the background to paint it red.
I did this example very quickly so the outlining isn't very good and I used too big of a green brush to get a close outline, but you'll get an idea of how easy it is to extract with PSP. Actually if I got a drawing pen for my pc it would make extracting mush easier then using a mouse.
