I was hyped for La La Land when I heard it described as a modern Umbrellas of Cherbourg/Young Girls of Rochefort tribute, but only the opening musical number really resembles that in any way. I found the rest of the movie to be really ordinary in comparison. It falls into the whole cult of Hollywood self-mythologizing, though, so it's a shoo-in for the Oscar.
Moonlight and Manchester by the Sea are both genuinely good, a lot smaller, quieter and less focused on showy moments than you normally get from Oscar bait. I enjoyed Arrival fine but it didn't really have the makings of an all-time classic for me.
