I prefer Saul to BB overall

Just on an episode-by-episode basis. Tuning into Saul is like getting a really superb, darkly comedic indie film every single week, whereas Breaking Bad would drag its feet for several weeks at a time before finally slamming you over the head with its brilliance after building up the tension for 4-5 hours of episode-time. I get that, and it worked well enough, but I prefer a more consistently enjoyable series structure. The lighter, small-scale style of BCS is more attuned to me personally, anyway, so I'm probably a bit biased. But I honestly think it's a better-written show; there aren't really any groan-inducing subplots, Odenkirk is a remarkably compelling actor, and again, most importantly for me, there just aren't any lulls. It is an incredibly consistent show so far. The highs may not match up with BB at its best, but I'm okay with that.
