The great thing about the accents though

is that some people have thick North Shore accents, some have light accents, and others have none. This is very true to life for the area. Also, everyone I've spoken to from the North Shore thought the movie was *intensely* realistic in the accents, behaviors, dialogue, etc. You don't see that kind of regional verisimilitude often. Even the beers and food they drink are locally specific.
I mean, I guess the log thing doesn't happen everyday, but certainly people are responsible for the deaths of their family members all the time. Drunk driving, accidentally firing a gun, rolling over on an infant. Even if the specifics aren't commonplace, I thought it was realistic *enough* to convey the pain of a decent guy whose #### up costs him everything.
All that said, I'd probably still just give it a 4/5. Very good, but not quite great.
