The one that immediately comes to mind are Waltz for Debby and Sunday at the Village Vanguard by the Bill Evans Trio: the bassist was killed in a car accident immediately after the performance and the trio cnsequently broke up. They only put out two (that I can think of) studio albums and the live discs (more than) doubled their output.
Iron Maiden's Live After Death is another one. It was released after their "classic period" and immediately before the synthesizer era (and then their shit era, as in No Prayer for the Dying and Fear of the Dark). IT captured them at their peak and contains nothing but.
