I kind of see the Smiths, too. I can get into Morrissey'S vocals and I had The Queen Is Dead once and liked about half of it, but it's all so (their whole output, I mean) so dreary and boring. Also "How Soon Is Now" is one of my least favorite songs ever recorded. I like Skylarking a lot and Black Sea more tepidly by XTC but can't get into any of their others and gave up after several attempts to like them.
I could have --and should have -- put "anything by the Doors" on there. That's a band I don't like at all and, unlike Hendrix, I don't even see the appeal at all. Just a lame band IMO. I don't want to turn this into a dumping ground for all the albums or, especially, artists that I find overrated but the Doors belong there.
