"Astral Weeks" is a big one for me

It's often called one of the greatest albums of all time (appearing on many top 10 lists) but I've never been able to listen to more than a few minutes at a time. If I strain to understand the appeal, I can at least say that it has a nice, unique sound- sort of a jazzy baroque English folk hybrid. I just hate the material and Van's singing (and I like his work with Them). It sounds like the musicians are vamping on a couple of chords while Van is reciting corny poetry.
I sorta know what you mean about "Who's Next" but I like it more than I used to. You have to think of it as a big dumb arena rock album. As far as that type of music is concerned, it's pretty good.
Like with Trung, I have a feeling you're not answering the question accurately. Even if I didn't like Hendrix (which I can understand) I can't imagine not being able to understand his appeal. I mean, forget his material- you really don't understand the appeal of a guitarist who can solo like that?
