I never saw Flight, but isn't that one more about alcoholism? Maybe the structure of "Guy who narrowly averted/may have almost caused near-disaster gets investigated" is identical, but I have to think Zemeckis is at least a more kinetic and exiting director than Eastwood is (the plane falling/crashing scenes were really underwhelming here, no genuine tension to them)
It's nothing like Captain Phillips -- Greengrass isn't given to sentimentality the way Eastwood is. Plus in that one it's actually possible to buy into Tom Hanks doing his "Aw shucks, I'm no hero, just an everyday normal guy" schtick.
I wonder why they are bothering to make a movie about an incident from an Olympics 20+ years ago that barely anyone remembers. I certainly hope it won't try to make some timely point about Some guy being wrongfully accused of terrorism or whatever.
