I haven't heard that U2 album in awhile but I didn't hear a lot of the big mass-media dance-rock postmodern thing they were doing on Achtung Baby. Granted they were still making huge anthems but they seemed far more straightforward. Many of the reviews of it in 2000 stressed that it was them dropping the Euro-dance thing--"hey, U2 made an album with GUITARS again!" was the kind of thing you'd occasionally hear back then.
Most of those Wilco albums after 2004 just seemed like they were being made for Wilco's little crowd. No "event" about any of them. This isn't a slam on any of them, but certainly the band doesn't get the attention now that they were getting in 2002.
I've never actually watched a single second of Grey's Anatomy in my life. All I know is that it's a medical drama, it's been on for a really long time now, and that Katherine Heigl b*tch was on it.
Nope, post-rock isn't a huge deal anymore. Case in point, what was the last Mogwai album to get a lot of acclaim?
