Yes, I'm sure the two of us are among the few who would hope to see pre-Bulletin songs, but I understand why they wouldn't try it. Obviously having different band members around is a big part. And it'd be tricky to jump between tunes from the second half of the band's history to older stuff (imagine transitioning from Yoshimi to, say, Halloween on the Barbary Coast; not just how that would be for the band but how some of the more poppy oriented fans might take it). Plus, they seem to need to come up with an elaborate lights/props setup for every single song... so in the end it's all too much work to please too little people.
it sure would be nice someday, though, to have a more stripped-down Lips covering more of the catalog. but it's surely a pipedream... I mean, especially considering that Embryonic and Terror tunes have already fallen by the wayside.
and yes, sadly I keep having to watch that trailer when I go to the movies (seems like no matter what kind of movie I'm seeing, I have to sit through the same gawdawful previews). I'm so tired of these worthless covers. there's a Where Is My Mind? cover for a Samsung commercial that's driving me similarly insane.
