Also, where's the autobiography Tony? I'm reading Collins' autobiography right now. Mike's already done one. So it's your turn now.
I haven't gotten to the Genesis stuff yet, but damn Collins was right in the thick of the music scene in the 60s. He bumped shoulders with a lot of major people, and saw shows by pretty much every major 60s act in their primes. That guy had a fu*ckton of lucky breaks as a kid and teen. He got taken out of school to be in "Oliver!" and never went back instead going to a art school where he was in a class that was 95% girls and he hooked up with all of them. I found it amusing to learn that he was constantly *rejecting* acting jobs and only took them to fund his drumming career. That's likely not a very common position to be in.
Parts of a childrens movie he starred in called "calamity the cow" are on youtube. Collins said in the book that he hated being in the movie and screwed around so much on set they wrote him out halfway through even though he was supposed to be the star. It's worth skimming through to see 16 year old Phil not giving a shit.
There's also paragraph where he vaguely talks about jacking off as a kid. TMI Phil!
