I've heard some Brahms symphonies where the exposition is repeated (I've also heard Bach orchestral suites that repeat the fugal section verbatim, which is even more gratuitous IMO). Basically I agree with point B, being that if my attention has wandered the return to the tonic will jolt me into listening more closely. I'm not going to restart the track just for that.
I don't like second-half repeats though, so maybe I'm just brainwashed by practices commonly on recordings.
