I really hate arguing of semantics like this, and Ster and Norville are slightly annoying with their oafish pedantry, but they have a point. When a term means something, we shouldn't have unintelligent people who know nothing try to change the meaning of the terminology just because they keep brainlessly chanting it at any opportunity when trying to be smart.
I wouldn't want some 18 year old changing a term because he's too ignorant to look it up.
No literally is not figuratively and anyone who uses it that way should be corrected - or shot, whatever you prefer. [Those people annoy me to no end]
