Well the NFL does pride itself on parity so you don't get a situation like the Pittsburgh Pirates' having 20 straight losing seasons. In football with a few exceptions any team can give their fans something to hope for every year -- which *does* promote equality of outcome (over the long run) and involves revenue-sharing and redistribution. In keeping with the "socialist" nature the average pay in the NFL is the lowest in the major sports even as it's by far the most damaging to athletes' health (over 90% of brains studied showed evidence of CTE).
I guess baseball might be the most free-market? Professional wrestlers have it very hard but that's something else entirely.
