However John Mc liked the album despite that perpetual feeling but I find it really irritating.
Something like Speed of life is an instrumental that sounds like backing track where someone muted the vocal tracks rather than the work that is intrinsically designed to work on it's own. Breaking Glass has a half baked melodies. What in the world is one of the worst bowie songs at that time that sounds completely ugly and disjointed. Sound And Vision - half of the song is a backing track (again it doesn't sound like an instrumental piece of music but someone just muted the vocal tracks) and when the vocals do come in, it sounds underwritten.
The entire albums has a vibe of this is an early draft that someone would eventually come in an finished it.
'Always Crashing In The Same Car' sounds like a song that is actually sound polish and complete.
The second half is ambient music. I dislike ambient music as a matter of principle
