Why not just switch it off after the next-to-last track?

Easier than a lot of track programming. Just treat it as a bonus track.
Spectrum's Soul Kiss (Glide Divine) is like that: after a great little space-rock album it blisses out to three endless tracks of ambient guitar drones that take up like half the disc. I don't knock the album because of that.
