"typical BLM bullshit"

Ok you're probably the troll but I'll humor you. I'll agree that the groundbreaking nature of "Butterfly" has been exaggerated but it's still pretty ####ing original. I don't see how anyone with even a general knowledge of the history of hip hop could think otherwise, especially call his stuff cliche. His voice isn't any weirder than some other notable MCs (Lil Wayne comes to mind). Kendrick just affects it sometimes, twisting it into a cry at the end of every line etc. Yeah it could be seen as a gimmick but I think it's interesting and effectively conveys emotion (usually anguish) or at least that's my interpretation.
Yeah he's overrated but "Butterfly" isn't and the fact that modern hip hop is such a barren wasteland makes the fact that he's overrated understandable. I love Doom but certainly don't listen to him for his "topics" (face it- it's wordplay. Well done wordplay but nothing more) and hasn't he basically fallen off? I liked "Born Like This" more than most (my favorite of his actually) but what has he done since then? And "typical BLM bullshit"? Who else in hip hop is tackling that stuff?
