I was just leafing through "The Book of Movie Lists" by critic/film historian Joseph McBride last night and was reminded that that tops the list of his least favorite movies, which is mostly made of pics that are either iconoclastic or things he has some particular axe to grind against (like Patriot Games which he got fired for trashing). I just googled to see if I could find his original review of it from Daily Variety and I couldn't, but I did find an updated list where he only has Eraserhead as number 2, beaten out by Pearl Harbor.
Also, this has nothing to do with David Lynch, but on the same message board conversation where I found his revised "least favorite movies" list, he posted this sentence, which totally did not come out the way he meant it to:
[Ed] Wood claimed he was the only U.S. soldier to hit Omaha Beach wearing pink panties; but he was there along with Ford, Stevens, and Fuller.
