I assume how that place works will be completely changed as proper legalisation rolls out, but in the meantime I can just go in there anytime I want and get whatever I want so it doesn't really make much difference. The people who work there already don't bother asking for my card half the time so clearly they know that this model is a sham and won't last much longer.
But yeah, so I'm in a position now where I could get weed every day if I wanted to. I'm not going that far (it helps that I work evenings so I basically can only have weed on my days off if I don't want to go to work stoned, which I obviously don't), and I don't really want to go that far. But I know that I *could*. I mean I've increased my consumption enormously since I got my dispensary card (about 2 months ago), mainly since before then I had no easy access to it (I think I got stoned maybe 3 times in all of 2016). Right now since it's a new thing for me I'm enjoying the novelty of being able to get high whenever I want. But I don't know how long that novelty will last or how I'll feel about it in a few months or next year or whatever.
It has helped me out with drinking though. I wouldn't go so far as to say I was an alcoholic but I was definitely drinking much more than I should be on a regular basis but since I started getting weed regularly I cut down on alcohol enormously. That's been a big positive development for sure.
