I think I may have never been happier as a kid than the 11th birthday when I got Super Mario All-Stars in 1993. In the end Yoshi's Island has been sitting in my #1 spot for probably a decade and a half now but since I originally wanted an NES--in 1991, you understand--I felt very left out not having Mario 1, 2, and 3 to play...but Nintendo mercifully rectified that two years later and gave us The Lost Levels to boot.
The NES games I played were almost all as ROMs, too. I can't imagine making it through Ninja Gaiden or Kid Icarus without save states!!!
Terranigma is well known among SNES cultists but no it wouldn't be there...
I'd die laughing if that silly rumor about an NES Zelda III turned out to be true and it somehow got released.
While they're at it, maybe Nintendo could include F-ZERO II, which similarly to StarFox II ended up having a lot of its ideas just incorporated into the N64 game.
