Agreed on Hill

but while I don't think Tabs has heard much of his stuff, I think he was basically saying the same thing you are when he called him a "minor figure". He belongs on a short list of the all time greats but is still relatively unknown. I've been listening to jazz since high school and only became aware of Hill a few years ago. I love Hutcherson as well but he's less consistent than Hill in terms of great album released. In fact, of the albums I've heard of Hutcherson's, I'd only rank "Stick Up", "Dialogue" and "Components" as great albums ("San Francisco" is good, "The Kicker" is ok and "Happenings", "Total Eclipse" and "Oblique" aren't really my thing). As far as Hill is concerned, I agree with your picks and would add "Smokestack" and "Passing Ships" to the list of his great albums.
