I made the point that just because a term didn't exist yet, doesn't mean there weren't things that existed that fit the definition of that term prior to it being coined. In fact, often terms are coined to refer to trends that don't already have names to go with them. So, like, the term Bildungsroman was created to describe a type of novel that had been written a number of times before the term existed, or how there were still songs that met the definition of hardcore punk before Hardcore 81 came out and gave the genre a name, or how there were songs that met the definitions of ambient and industrial before Eno and Throbbing Gristle coined those terms, or how there were countless examples of manic pixie dream girls in the media before the term was coined to refer to Elizabethtown.
