Even if I go to a Chinese restaurant where every single person eating there are international student from China with nil Caucasian people there (which I admit is the type of Chinese restaurant I usually eat out in). I have no way of knowing how "authentic" as I have no frame of reference to compare to. Most of the time international student say the very best Asian restaurant in Australia is only average compared to food back at home.
So I may say I like Chinese food but it's purely based on chinese food served in western country. So the earlier top 10 cuisine post I wrote years ago, I did wrote a disclaimer that it was a warped perspective from someone who hasn't travel overseas that much
In any case the opening post isn't what type of food/cuisine I like but rather my favourite individual dishes. Which doesn't change whether it's authentic or not
