That's part of why "Magick Brother" is my favorite- it's more in the psych rock vein than the prog/spacerock vein. And yeah, I hear echoes of Syd in all of Allen's stuff but especially that album. "Angel's Egg" is my favorite of the albums displaying the more typical Gong sound but both "Flying Teapot" and "Camembert Electrique" are neck and neck with it. Allen's "Now Is The Happiest Time of Your Life" and "Good Morning" albums are both pretty cool but don't sound as much like Gong except for a few tracks (generally folkier).
Älgarnas Trädgård is probably the best Swedish psych/prog group I've found but there are a couple others I'd recommend like Samla Mammas Manna (Canterbury-esque and wacky), Fläsket Brinner (jammy and jazzy) and Kebnekaise (alternates between heavy acid riffage and etheral Euro folk rock, depending on the album).
