>All-time most intense Jack Bauer interrogation scene happens in this season, when he's in the limo with the guy while calmly, casually describing how he can use a wet rag to yank his internal organs out of his throat if he doesn't talk. >Later seasons would bypass this kind of subtlety completely and just have Jack skip straight to torturing and screaming at people at the top of his lungs.
Yep, I've been told this thing is a libertarian torture-o-rama fantasy from hell. Can't wait!!!
>I believe this season is also the only one where we see Jack actually sit down to eat a meal. They gradually stop addressing the fact that he's running around doing all this crazy stuff for 24 straight hours with no food, water or sleep >altogether.
No no, he does that during the commercial breaks when we don't see the orange clock ticking!!!
Hey, we didn't know how they were surviving on Lost after season 1 either...
>Palmer's wife is fantastic, but for me the MVP supporting actor (besides the great Xander Berkeley) is Carlos Bernard as Tony Almeida.
Poor Xander, got stabbed by The Girl Who Isn't Actually Mexican from Aliens in T2, ended up being that "Red John" guy on The Mentalist didn't he?
>Elisha Cuthbert stayed on the show past this, as I'm sure you're aware, and her stories got even stupider, as I'm sure you're aware.
I thought the mountain lion thing happened in the first season--I know it was made fun of extensively in the media even back then! (MAD parody: "Hi, I'm Dim.")
>Aside from amnesia, the worst, most time-wasting trope this show indulges in time and time and time again is "Jack Ruby-ing" people -- they have the suspect >in custody, they're carting him away, the chase is essentially over, then out of nowhere somebody just snaps and murders the suspect for no reason (normally someone who didn't know they were working for the bad guys and feels betrayed). >It never stops being super dumb, every single time it happens.
I would have found it much more compelling if that girl that looked like Rosie Perez who killed herself in season 1 because they thought she was a traitor actually had been a traitor, instead of revealing that Nina killed her. I'm not surprised to hear about "Jack Rubying" on this show.
Also, SERBS SERBS SEEEEEERBS. I know that 9/11 happened while the show was airing that first season and a bunch of alarms went off about Arab terrorists being on the show but SERBS!!!!! Oh man, THAT takes me back! Beloved villains of the late 90s!!! Do MILLENNIALS with their SMARTPHONES and SOCIAL MEDIA know about SERBS?!? I bet they don't!!
>If you end up going through the whole show (I know you will), just keep in mind I gave up after season 5. There's also a TV movie, a revival season, a reboot, and apparently ANOTHER revival season on the way? It's never going to end at this point.
Yeah, and there's a new Saw movie coming too. You surprised? No!!! And there were two X-Files movies and a revival series for that too and I watched all thtat....
>Is that why you chose it?
No. I'll probably be stopping to do Firefly after this next season, then any remaining seasons of Better Call Saul I can get my mitts on, and oh yeah season 3 Twin Peaks and Event Series X-(Pedo)philes.
