Yeah. He was also the one who said that the fact WWII veterans and Holocaust survivors said that Private Ryan and Schindler's List were authentic should count against those movies because films shouldn't be praised for indulging people's own cliched views of themselves.
And don't forget about THIS (from Wikipedia):
> In May 2012, Mark Rappaport filed a lawsuit against Carney for refusing to give back digital masters of Rappaport's movies which the filmmaker had previously entrusted to Carney to transport to Paris. Carney, however, has maintained that Rappaport actually gave him the masters as gifts and is now engaging in cyber bullying against him. No written agreement was signed when the material was shipped to Carney. The suit was dropped in September of that same year, due to rising legal costs, although Rappaport later started an online petition demanding that Carney return the masters.
I think much of his notoriety comes from his writings on John Cassavetes, but maybe there's more to his reputation than that.
> Have you noticed we don't hear from Armond White much?
I never payed attention to him, it seems like everyone hates him and he's only famous for being an annoying contrarian. Googling him just now I see that he has lots of new reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. He did like that new Transformers movie that only has a 15% fresh rating.
