It was a cool detail, I thought, to have the Tyrell Corporation go out of business at some point in the story. (Hey, Joe Turkel is still alive, cameo people!) That said a little more information on this replicant uprising or whatever would have been nice, without it Leto's goals seem like a borderline Macguffin. And a villain on the level of Roy Batty is also greatly missed.
It feels more abstract and subtle than the original because Villeneuve, for all his money and visual skill, isn't really "slick" like Ridley is. And the film has far more loneliness in it than the original--that film spent far more time showing you the 106 million people in LA than this one did.
I will definitely NOT rewatch it right away and man is it ever long, making it all the more annoying about that last act.
