And again, I do like Copland's police songs. But obviously his stuff doesn't really work as the main course of a musical project.
Here's a song. Listen to that great instrumental interplay and typically awesome copland hi-hat playing. And then Copland ranting overtop while the bass player teases you with his better voice. It's hard for me to hate Copland since he seems like he's having a good time. But hmhmhmhm.
They even brought back some of Copland's old solo stuff. This is originally from one of his "Klark Kent" solo projects in the 90s or something.
There's no full band live stuff yet, but I'll be curious to see if they have a different drummer and have Stuart be the frontman (that's how they seem to be presenting it so far) or if he sings from behind the drums.
The more I look into the band the more obvious it is that it's 100% a Stu project with the other guys along for the ride, but when the band was announced and promoted initially it wasn't billed that way. I seemed to me like this would be a new Belew band kinda like The Bears or something. But nope. It's Copland's project all the way down.
