Has any movie had to be canned mid-production because an actor died?

It's hard to imagine Spencer Tracy dying 2/3 of the way through Guess Who's Coming to Dinner without requiring most of it to be re-shot if it was going to be finished at all. As for movies where somebody did die, well there's Plan 9 From Outer Space, but the absurd damage control was already in line with what the rest of the movie was like. Then there was that CGI John Candy movie.
The big example I can think of of a movie that had to be saved by bizarre alterations was My Son John. Olive Films put that one out (after it never having received a region 1 vhs release) but I'd love to see a Criterion release.
For anyone who doesn't know what happened with that one, if you don't mind spoilers J-Ro summarizes it in this article: https://www.jonathanrosenbaum.net/2017/06/washington-paranoia-from-the-left-and-right-the-day-the-earth-stood-still-my-son-john/
