I was just making a jazz fusion joke

Like many jazz fans, I find the slick "Heavy Weather" type of jazz fusion to be really tacky and dull. Not even the biggest fan of Mahavishnu or the earlier Weather Report. But I like Miles Davis's fusion albums more than anything else he did (and he had been playing "straight jazz" for decades before he went fusion, though he's obviously a special case and kind of in his own category).
Have never heard Brand X but generally, the Canterbury stuff that leans more towards fusion isn't my favorite. And as I've often said, Caravan had a knack for writing catchy poptunes that most prog groups (or pop groups, for that matter) simply didn't possess.
