Most of the time my gaming feelings are pretty neutral. Generally I enjoy games when I play them, but after a while I get bored and if I reach a part that's too hard I'll often just give up, cus I could be doing literally anything else and enjoy it more.
But Mario Odyssey was just a fantastic experience all the way through. It's got some tough parts but never so hard that I got stuck for long (though if I want to get 100%, which I do, I expect the difficulty will *majorly* ramp up), and it constantly throws new things at you to keep your attention. Everywhere you look there's something new to explore and uncover. And all the movement mechanics with the hat give you endless ways to move around the levels. It's got a few moments that I'd consider the absolute peak of what a gaming can be (at least for me personally), with the climax of the New Donk City and final Bowser levels. Mario 64 was always my favourite Mario game, but in spite of this not having been out for very long I think it might have topped it for me.
