I don't really see why they'd be considered art. If they're art, why not board games? I mean, I've always liked the character designs for Candyland but wouldn't really describe the game as "art". There's gotta be a line drawn between art and design somewhere, even if there obviously is a lot of overlap.
New topic: cryptocurrency. A few of my coworkers (who are in their mid-20's or younger) are all about this shit and some have actually made a hefty chunk of change but I think it's all ridiculous and part of me wishes it'll come crashing down but maybe it's good for the economy?
