Michigan was really good too though I did notice a number of Michigan songs seemed like warmups for their Illinois doppelgangers. At least it seems that way, since I haven't really revisited Michigan.
I also remember Stephen Thomas Erlewine getting kinda triggery over Sufjan's silly "50 states" concept which he obviously never was going to do.
As for Amnesiac, we all could have guessed he wasn't going to like it if he didn't like Kid A (the bizarre opinion would be hating KA and loving Amnesiac, though I guess it's possible) but to be fair his opinion of the album is just a more hateful version of what most people seemed to think of it at the time. Most people gandered at it, liked maybe a couple of songs, and moved on, was my rememberance of what happened with that album. A lot of mainstream critics didn't like it either and lots of people forget it's even in their discography. Yeah, yeah, every now and then you'll find someone who adores it but I still think that's fairly rare.
