Listened to the album again. "52 Girls" is maybe the most overtly-Fallish (of course there were a few years separating the 1979 B-52's and the mid-'80s Fall, but going off of Nick) -- well, it's perhaps the most superficially similar to the Fall and would have made a good single if it wasn't. It's pretty good, and I think that basically of the whole album. I listened to it this time instead of having it on in the background and what I thought was a drawback -- groove music in a new-wave style that can't tolerate as much groove -- was nothing of the sort.
The album version of "Rock Lobster" is a mess though. Seven minutes of it is way, way too much of a good thing.
I would have really dug this album in college.
