But it seems to be an observable phenomenon. Again, not necessarily at the bigger names, but metacritic takes reviews for a pretty large number of sources. And as long as some of them are from places/people pre-disposed to giving the album in question a high score, then the aggregate score is lifted. That's why albums with aggregate scores lower than 60 aren't too common, (whereas there are a bunch of films with scores lower than this).
There isn't nearly the same kind of brand loyalty or brand expectation that occurs with films, as opposed to albums.
