"Lining the abyss were thousands and thousands of souls screaming, writhing, all suffering as I fell downward into the pit."
Sounds like this guy is religious or was at least raised with religion. If anything, it proves that the concept of Hell isn't something anyone should take seriously or spend too much time thinking about.
"Not a skeleton, but a boneman."
Haha ok man, thanks for clarifying.
"Everything that I had suffered through—the birth trauma, the suicide attempts, the divorces"
Ok yeah, if you're someone who's attempted suicide you probably shouldn't take psychedelic drugs at all, let alone a huge dose like this guy. WTF
"If we can dissolve to a state of no “I,” there is no suffering, no attachment, no seeking, no searching. We simply exist in a state of present moment awareness where all is as it should be—the perfection of existence in the moment."
So he went through all of this to realize the importance of living in the moment?
"The beautiful thing is in that moment of realization, you fully understand being awakened or enlightened means nothing. It’s the great cosmic giggle. We all want it, we all seek it"
But see, people like this guy who are truth-seekers, whether your method is religion and/or psychedelic drugs don't realize is NO, not everyone wants or seeks enlightenment. Many folks are able to realize this things with age, often relatively early in their lives, naturally without even trying but just by living and being conscious: life is chaotic and horrible and beautiful at the same time, live in the moment, don't assign meaning (or too much meaning) to things that don't warrant it, etc. Psychedelic drugs can be fun but if you need them to figure this shit out, something's probably wrong with you, in which case you shouldn't be taking these kinds of drugs in the first place.
