I agree the profanity gets old. At first it was cool because he is from New Jersey like me and has that Italian NJ/NY bravado that was charming in 2006-2007, but did get old quick. The fact he grew up there, almost the same age as me and the fact he had a very similar childhood to me was what drew me to him. He's also a really good speaker, either narration or to the camera, and definitely an excellent video game historian type guy.
I don't mind the same stupid complaints really, but I see what you mean. The same old NES stuff gets old, but I think that is his formula that seems to work regardless. I think if I could improve the show, I'd say that he should just tone down the "obligatory" screaming profanity and childish jokes and focus just on the game play. One of my favorite episodes is the Castlevania series because it was mainly just a documentary about the games and watching his reactions to gameplay, which were very hard games that everyone can relate to being frustrated by and all that.
I guess since I am so familiar with this series, I'll give my input a bit:
BIGGEST LAUGHS: Tough one here, just so many funny bits here and there. One of them I guess is a few bits on the Metal Gear episode, especially the "who goes around punching dogs???" gag and also "oh great, the truck is the size of a ####ing house"
BEST RECURRING JOKE: I suppose LJN. Probably something funnier but I can't remember. I like the "man behind the couch" bit.. just pretty absurd and I'm guessing making fun of the early openers to videos where Kyle plays guitar behind his couch.
WORST RECURRING JOKE: Shitpickle, I agree
BEST GUEST APPEARANCE: Mike did do the best ones. Kyle did great ones too here and there, like Spiderman episode
WORST GUEST APPEARANCE: Yes. That James shitpickle thing was stupid. I'd still say Lloyd Kaufman though. Just too awkward and cheesy to watch
HARDEST-LOOKING GAMES TO PLAY: Yeah maybe Dragons Lair
MOST BAFFLING EXISTENCE OF A GAME: Hong Kong 97. I can see Bubsy existing, even if it looks like a unfinished prototype of a game.
RUNNER UP: Plumbers Don't Wear Ties (not even a 'game') - Also that Cheetamen shit but that technically wasn't even released
MOST CONTROVERSIAL: TMNT NES game. Owned it as a kid and always thought it was great
SADDEST MOMENT: Rob The Robot vid where he looked defeated at first
BEST "ENTIRE CONSOLE" REVIEW: Virtual Boy. Pretty comprehensive, shows gameplay and every game released and sums up why its so bad.
BEST BACKSTORY: SwordQuest is very interesting
