The criticism that she used John for fame and broke up the Beatles are undeserved, since I don't believe that those things were some malicious intention of hers. but there are elements of truth there (since she *did* get famous because of it, and she *was* one of many factors in their breakup) and that makes it hard for people to see her as anything other than a villain in the Beatles story rather than an artist in her own right (regardless of the quality of her actual art).

That's actually not hard to imagine at all. OK not a Nirvana album, but I could easily see them doing a solo side-project thing together had Kurt lived. They'd definitely be more compatible musically than John and Yoko at the very least.
