I don't know that many of these, but the ones I do are not generally very good (e.g. USA, Silver Apples) or are not the artists' best work, just their weirdest (e.g. Oar, Metal Machine Music, Illuminations, Being Boiled).
The Family Fodder album is pretty good, though.
The Guardian list you linked to is much better, with some good not-totally-expected picks (e.g. The Millennium, Jane Siberry, Laura Nyro, Blue Nile, Blondie's and Talking Heads' best albums).
