He seems to be sort of like Gigli or Ishtar or something like that, something where few people actually *saw* the thing they were supposed to hate.
Watching people who also probably had not seen his films scream about how awful they are, and his Youtube response where he told the world to just go eff itself (in part because no critics took him on in a boxing match), was pretty funny though.
Huh, that Wikipedia link (which doesn't work, the "(film)" part seems to screw it up) says he got good reviews for it. He also did a Darfur film? I knew about his Auschwitz movie but Darfur?!? His Auschwitz movie was supposedly filmed while he was already making his BloodRayne movie, garggg. Looking through his filmography he seems to have turned into Takashii Miike (haven't heard that name much lately?) and is making five films a year, or something. (Boll did not put out a film in 2017.)
"Blubberella is a 2011 comedy action film written and directed by Uwe Boll. The plot revolves around an obese dhampir superhero, set in Nazi-occupied Europe. The entire film is a scene-for-scene spoof of BloodRayne: The Third Reich (directed by Boll himself the previous year) with most of the same cast and crew."
Boll himself plays Hitler in that one.
