I've always taken Wings to be considered a bit of a joke, probably thanks to stuff like this:
In the end though I actually liked every one of Wings albums, especially the vocal harmony stuff they had going on (which almost completely disappears on Paul's stuff afterwards). They basically sound like Paul doing 70's Fleetwood Mac.
The only major problem is Paul's harebrained notion that letting incidental members write and sing a song or two on every album would prove they were a 'real' band. Reminds me of the brief period where Rivers Cuomo started letting other members write and sing songs, with forgettable consequences.
