You don't have to move halfway across the continent to the East or West coast. You can move to a major metropolitan area that is relatively hip by Midwestern standards. What's stopping you? It's close enough to keep in touch with your family easily and it isn't Bum#### College Town. That's half your problem right there - the environment. I know, having grown up in small towns myself, that those places keep you stagnant. You will never grow as a person or expand your social circle staying stuck in Lawrence. Do you want to stay there the rest of your life, growing increasingly lonely and insular and out of touch with every new class of college freshmen pouring in? You need to move to a place where you can meet adults of your own age and with common interests, and you'll just have to move to the big city and out of Redneckville to do that. I hope this doesn't sound too harsh.
