Happy to report my ears are pretty good thanks. I have to neck a terrifying arsenal of pills that may or may not be helping, but either way I haven't had any real problems for well over a year (and before that it was also good for over a year, until it came back for a few months).
Last time I got it tested the low frequencies in the left ear were on the border between normal and mild impairment, but it's not particularly noticeable day to day (except bass sometimes sounds subtly panned to the right). Whatever tinnitus is still there is barely noticeable.
The main lingering annoyance is that I have this weird thing where tones are pitched slightly higher in one ear than the other. So long as both ears are picking something up the brain is generally able to figure it out, but hard stereo panning can sound really messed up, I find myself switching stuff to mono occasionally to avoid it.
Overall though if it stays like this I can accept it as one of life's foibles.
